I am looking to either get an s13 or an 89-93 mustang. I want the mustang because it has a big engine, 5.0 and seems to be an all around good car. The s13 is about 300 pounds lighter than the mustang and has alot less power. Which should i get? Thanks for any help. Chris

Well sence this is a drifting site, I assume you want it for drifting.
S13 is deffenately a good way to go. However if you like your big motor and want to explore new grounds go for the mustang. If your brand new i am tempted to say the S13 though
But hell go for the mustang, i want to see some drifting. Talk with guys like crazyhawaiian and revlimit who have been drifting Fbody camaros, they may be able to give you some advice if you want to go the mustang route (yeah yeah i know Camaros and mustangs dont get along.. but this is drifting, so were all pretty open)
check out www.powerslideways.com by those guys.

What do you actually want to do with your car? Drifting....yeah I recommend S13, but you are going to pay a premium right now. Pure HP and a good amount of handling prowess, the 5.0 will get that for you. If you find a 5.0 shell with bad motor, I've got a very niiice motor under 90k miles that I'd be willing to part with for about $250. Cam, rocker arms and a few other light upgrades. This motor allowed me to keep up w/ my buddy's '01 pony and this is when I had a bad clutch and was about 2 weeks from blowing the trans. You can bump the HP on 5.0's so easy.

ok heres the thing there bout about the same price..both have killer aftermarket support..
but in the long run the mustang is going to be cheeper for go fast goodies, cause there are 100000s of them out there..and has a HUGE torque/HP advantage over the S13/240sx
so my advise..go with the 5.0

I love 5.0's so naturally I'm biased but the 240 is a great ride. The 5.0 is a sweet ride due to it's cheap availability and huge aftermarket support. My advice would be to get some better control arm bushings to quell the snap oversteer from the factory. With this car you'll address suspension and braking before motor mods. Pick up a copy of Mustang Muscle and Fast Fords, there's a wealth of information in each issue. Feel free to pm me Kuma. I am very well read on 5.0's and know what it takes to make 'em run fast.
ps guys we gotta put the Ford vs Chevy business behind us cause these days its import vs domestic.
