Can anyone tell me what it would take and how much it would be to turn a car from FWD to RWD???

Easy way, drop in different engine and drivetrain from a RWD car.See all the V8 Ford Focuses running around.

Then there's ATI's V8.

Depends what route you want to go.

Yeah. My Escort buddy was thinking of using an older Mustang drivetrain to get his car RWD. We ditched the project in like 5 minutes though. So w/e. New Corolla would be hard because nothing else on the Toyota menu is rwd, and using an older drivetrain probably isn't good. But good luck.

it isn't worth it to make a ff car into a fr car, unless it's for professional racing team with a million dollars to build a car. I read about a guy trying to make his golf or jetta into rwd, and he was looking at 20 grand(just a rough estimate). You also gotta understand that manufacturers design cars with powertrains in mind, so many things are disrupted and have to be corrected if you switch it. But hey, if you have the money and the ambition, by all means set out to do it
PS I have a new corolla too, even though I can't drift with it, I see it as something I can learn the basics of a car from. it may be a ff, but that's not to say you can't do anything with it

I think its possible. Adapt the entire drivetrain (engine, transmission, rearend) from an older AE86 to the newer body style with a custom length driveshaft. As long as the engine and transmission physically fit, and the rearend width matches the car (aka no rear tires sticking out lol), then it would work (length of the car will determine how long the driveshaft needs to be). Other things that might need fabrication is the suspension, since the solid rear AE86 setup is very different from the FWD setup. Nothing is impossible if you put the time into it. Heck, I've been following the Drift Integra Project and look how far they got. FYI, its a B18 motor, CRV AWD transmission with the front diff's disconnected, and a CRV rearend (I think). End result is a RWD integra. Now the guy's working on a turbo kit .. CRAZYNESS!!

ive seen a teggy with rwd but it migh be easyer to convert to 4wd so long as you can find a transfer case and make room for differentials prop shafts axils drive chains blah blah but its been dont on a ford puma in the uk it had the cossie 2.0 engine and stuff but you are looking at ££$$££$$
