umm, actually a 240 with a vg would just be a 240 with a lot more power... and as far as the s12 sharing parts, yes...the rear springs from z31, the front springs from an early 80's 280zx....engine, brakes, and powertrain all can be swapped with the z31...and brakes from a z32 as well....i'm not sure what the hell nissan was thinking when they dubbed the newer b14's 200's...nothing like the older ones. however, they did come withthe sr20, which technically is the start of a silvia engine, but oh wait....its turned the wrong way...

i was just thinking it would be a 300sx because the vg is a 3 liter. same sx platform. idk kinda like nissans weird way of naming cars. like the with the 180sx and how it originally came with a 1.8 liter ca and the us 240sx with the 2.4 liter ka. too many numbers and names haha. thats prolly why they gave the 200sx name to the b14. cause it had a 2 liter sr. thanks for the info on the parts. hmm i have to look more into the s12's.

I used to do a little drifting in an 88 S12 5spd with the CA20E. It was a lot of fun, really good starting car. It does resemble the AE86... but with the V6 offering was a bit more powerful. Actually, I think it was more powerful thruout the whole range... CA18ET, CA20E and VG30E. It handled pretty decently, and the SR20DET did fit in it, so power deficiencies could be overcome. There was a little bit here and there for the suspension aftermarket, brakes were Z32/Z31. They were used more for rallying in their day than drifting tho.

A pic of my old S12... before the telephone pole

Part of me wanted a 86 as a play around fun car. But there too expensive and hatchi owners always complain about them being money pits.. Im sure the S12 isnt any difference, but its a hell of alot of cheaper to buy. And its a nissan and i like bigger engines. Maybe i will get me one of those to play with along side the S13
