i wasn't saying that anyone was, is, or ever will be into drag racing or nascar. i was giving examples of popular motorsports. i wasn't giving reasons why people get into drifting either... sobe read more carefully next time i do agree that tuner transformation is quite ridiculous. i woudn't take vinyl graphic scheme tips from an angry old fart with a mullet. well anyways... to everyone new and old to drifting, jus enjoy the mainstream circus for now.

No you know its mainstream when you go to Linen n Things with your girlfriend and you see a 02' Mustang with a sticker that says "I'd rather be a dritn". Now thats *Censored**Censored**Censored*.

And as for Initail-D, its soo played out in SoCal that when I was going to the fair the other day I saw a what tried to look like a Sileighty with a sticker on the side that said "KinghtKids". lol what does that tell you.

Also understand, alot of those kids who see shows like that and want to know more about drifting will come to this site. Hell anyone see the first copy of the magazine "boost" (not a bad rag at all) theres a link here in there drifting artical. Its up to us to act mature and help guide the new guys into drifting, and away from the whole "drift car show" stuff, or whatever your pet peve happens to be.

Preache on Rev. You are exactly right I am a way way way beginner when it comes to drifting and thanks to this site I now know a lot more then other places. Good and Bad.(remember when I wanted to put a Rotary in my Miata) lol

P.S. Thanks to everyone that has helped me I love you guys!!! In a strictly none *Censored**Censored**Censored* way!

I think it will probably be just like this whole "street racing" and drag thing with all those ricers. I mean less and less people are dragging and racing like that because most of them have realized it's getting old, while the real guys still do it. give it a few years. they'll find something new and then the real drifters will still be out there hitting the touge, while all those ricers and stuff will go on to the next "big thing".

Yeah I hate the graphics guy. He said the Mini Cooper "was just a marketing ploy". Slapping a Crossfire badge on an SLK is a marketing ploy, not bringing back the new mini cooper. With the shoestring budget those guys have on the show it's ridiculous to spend any money on the graphics other than a good paint job.

My original post wasnt ment to be an attack, but drifting is awesome. Wether it gets ruined or not is up to the fans. Just because something is mainstream doesnt mean jack. Sorry if i hurt anyones feelings.

There is no such thing as a Rice filter. Rice is everywhere and especially in the place you all see as he motherland. Japan.

But back to the topic. Drifting IS the next big Ricer thing. There is no way around it. You have to realize that Ricers are just like you and me. They like cars, they like to drive em fast and they like to look good. The only difference is that some people have a skewed sense of reality on what looks good or not. Can't fault a person there. One man's coolness is another mans rice.

So you are going to see more and more of them on your favorite hills all around the US because thats whats popular. It's up to you all and you all alone to make what you want of it. You can either get pissed and leave the mountain, come here and complain about it or you can stay where you are and waste them. If they want to run the mountain, show them what running the mountain is ALL about my brothers. My favorite spot is MY favorite spot and no one is going to come up there and knock me off of it. No ricer is going to outrun me on it, out drive me on it or talk crap to me about it. When Ricers come up to my spot I want them to look at me in Awe. "Man that guy is fast". And it only takes 2 good whoopings to make the word get out. "Man go up there and watch that guy in the black FD. he's wicked fast". Thats what I want. SO no way in the 9 levels of hell am I going to back off my mountain. Of course we do this all at proper speed limits and in the letter of the law.

With that being said, go out there and make you own name as well as on the boards. Yes being respected on the boards is good and helps you make alot of friends and contacts but in the end your driving will speak for you. I don't think a soul on this board has seen me drive. I'm sure that will change in the future. Drifting is coming up and coming up fast. The Touge goes hand in hand with that. I like the Touge first and foremost. I like the mountain passes. Drifting just follows suit. For me Drifting on the tracks is just a necessary evil. Yea it's fun to watch but it's controlled and tame. It's not the raw, untamed passionate entity that it is in the mountains. Of course here in the states that is a little hard to do but you get the picture.

So go out and Drift. Don't worry about who drives what, how long they can hold a slide or when the newest Wendys commercial that has the new Daves tuned Skyline is going to come out and ruin Drifting a little more. In the end, the truth lies in the slide not the TV set.

                                Why?

RWD, great torque? What's the issue?? Shouldn't we be more amused with the Option2 stickers on Civics?? Even there, they might have another car in the household............

BTW - what's wrong with rednecks building a drift machine, if you don't think they've been drifting pickups on dirt roads for decades, you're seriously mistaken. So what if this stuff is going mainstream; just more rooks to beat up on at Initial D video games, Speedzone and Willow Springs. (More noobs to admire your skills and gasp in awe!!!)
