There has been a few varients of the Lancer EVolution. It was first the Evolution, then the Evo GSR, then the RS, and for the EVO VI, in honor of their rallying success the made a Tomei MAkinen edition (more for rallye then street) those have pretty much been the different kinds of EVOs.
Yhe only car i heard of with a carbon fiber roof is the Mugen S2000 with a $5K roof hatch insted of a convertable, but that is not reallya production car. I think there has been a previous evo MR.
there will be a so called "Evo baby". it;s this little 3-door car with a turbo 4 that makes liek 200 some odd hp. i read about it in a quick article in ...Car and Driver I think. just thought i wiuld throw that in.

I don't think the MR has a new turbo, just some inteenals but it has a new center LSD and it is lighter. I hope it still has the little intercooler sprayer gimmick. that thing is just funnny!

        what the? double post...whatever

The EVO MR does have a new turbo. I thought it didn't. i thought it had some new internals. The turbo is just used to gain some more mid-range power and it happened to addd some more. ( like i am complaining) It has an aluminum roof and Aluminum is used elsewear in the car. It also has some light weight BBS rims. And as discussed before, a new active center diff.

As for the new baby evo such a car is possbily planned. it will likely appear in 2006 based on the upcomming Colt 3-door. i guess power could be up to 250hp form a 1.5 turbo inline 4, AWD, and possibly a twin clutch paddle-shift tranny. some optimistic numbers are 0-60 in 4 flat and top speed of 140

there's going to be an RS model available shortly; probably before the MR.

it's a stripped down version w/o a/c and some other creature comforts. it's going to be cheaper as well.

heard rumors that Mitsubishi has not been doing too well and might possibly pull out of the US car market. who knows if this is true or not. but if so everyone should pick up an RS since they are probably only going to be producing 1800-2000 of these.

i'm waiting 'til they go bankrupt and picking up one for the price of a civic. haha!
