It is dangerous, you have a high probability of crashing. They aren't telling anyone to do it,they aren't telling anyone not to do it.By saying "leave it to the Japanese",they're saying that something like drifting could only be made in Japan.Sure that might not be right, but it's definitly not bashing them. The Japanese have a reputation for revolutionizing the most strange, bizzare, and unpredictable things in the world, this is one of them.

I found it pretty offensive actualy.
I did see it as a semi racist remark "Oh those crazy *Censored**Censored**Censored* japanese, all being the same and crazy"
I dont know if that was intended but its what i took from it. Also drifting is pretty safe when done on a track. Its pretty much as dangerous as conventional driving in the wrong hands on moutain roads.
Also as for the mean ol japanese people being rude to foreigners. Thats also a racist remark. I am sure there are japanese people who love foreigners and those who hate them. But as americans we are pretty damn rude to foreigners too. Wether they are here for vacation or to work or whatever. Besides considering Japan is one of our few friends we have left, lets not go around insulting them. I mean they are a hell of alot friendlier then the iraqisLast edited by nissanguy_24; 05-15-2004, 05:41 PM.

let them say what the want. let the show what they show. it wont take anything away from the fact that drifting is hella fun and that there is nothing they can do to take the fun away from us. personally i say leave drifting to the japanese ( wink wink ) so that we can go back to buying drift cars for cheap. just my wtvr a stamp costs these days.

Isn't Esquire a girly magazine anyway? I can honestly say I've never even picked it up off the stand. Let them say whatever they want. Now if I saw something like this in the National Enquirer it would be a different story. Everyone knows they only report the facts. Like the WW2 bomber found on the moon, or the 700 pound newborn baby. The article would probably be something along these lines: Aliens discovered at newest motorsport event! and then slow some photoshop of some aliens running around in the smoke cloud behind Nomukens Skyline. It would be great!
