  • The perfect cheap drift car

Ok, I know alot of people say they don't know what to get and have a few g's to get a car... why don't they get an old school VW bug and fix that up...I'm pretty sure there RWD and from all the old school VW bug fans that I've talked to said that they can put a lot of power into em. Just a thought I'd throw up in the air.

RR to be exact. Dont know how the chassis will hold up to drifting.. Also they seem top heavy... it would be a cool project to see how it works though.

According to my buddy, witch sometimes I think is BS he claims he use to do touge runs and stuff but, I doubt it's true. He talks a lot of shyt sometimes. LOL, it'd be kind of funny if it became the new crave for drifters.

The 911s are RR. The Boxters are MR and the 924's, 944s, 968s, 928s and Cayennes are FR. Cayenne's would be Front Engine AWD rwd biased though. Big 450hp Twin turbo V8s in those trucks.

Don't RR and MR cars have alot of oversteer? Say you went into to a drift faster than usual, wouldn't you spin out easier?

When did drifters get so shy of oversteer? A drifters job is to harness and control oversteer.. Fear it not.

It was just a question. I was looking for an answer.

So true. It'd be a challenge to drift but when done right it might have some advantages.

                              LoL

I actualy have a VW Bug (1974 Super beetle), the engine is in the back thefor it is rear wheel drive.

The only problem i see is that they don't cost a couple G's but several G's (around here they do anyway), they are classics therefor they are worth a pretty penny.

you could get one from a junkyard and repair it or just get one that is so beat to hell that the person selling it is glad to get rid of it.

I wouldn't know how much drifting you could do in it since the engine (thus all the weight) is in the back.

The VW bug (for its time) was the fastest sprinting car.
