If anything he is rasing the value if and when he wants to resell the car.
I know lots of ppl that would like a rollcage in their car when they buy one, not to mention what else he might be doing to the car to supe it up.

you could drill holes through the carpet (which would look ugly, but not THAT bad), i think they'd have the interior gutted anyway for weight reasons...
