Quite a few pros use sequential transmissions...
"for example, down-shifting to 2nd when you meant to go to 4th), it is possible to blow up the engine" I'm sorry,I read that from the link and have to say that is pretty stupid.Shifting from 3rd to 4th is straight down,you just move the shifter down.You'd have to be a moron to put it into second when try to shift it into 4th.Going from 2 to 3rd and 4th to 5th is a much more likely mishift,and vice versa when going down.I've never heard of someone mishifting the easiest shifts.Comment

I dont know but i dont think i would like a sequential very much.. any one play the initial D arcade game? haha i hate that shifter.Comment

When I first bought my 300zx (the shifter was a bit wobbly because the baring was old) and I wanted to see how fast it would go. I got it up to 4th gear and I was doing about 140 when I when to go switch it to 5th gear but accidentally put it in 3rd. Needless to say that was a fun experience.
