Unless you recently won the lottery (In that case, share 10,000 with me), it's not realistic to own a imported car. You can own an imported kit car (one that is shipped in pieces), but it won't be street legal...

    Can we drop this already?

    Matt.

Oh, I will own a S15 silvia before I die.

          From what i've been told...

If you want to get a RHD street legal u have to do either of these 2 things...

          1. Buy 2 of them and have ur 1st put through a series of crash tests to make sure its safe for the road. (not sure about this one)

          2. Paint it like a U.S Postal Service Vehicle with a yellow light on top.

Mind you this is just what i've been told, personally i dont see the problem, but i really wouldn't want people driving around having blind spots for oncomming cars. If u want a RHD ur basically confined to the track. Its just common sense, altho i'm sure from time to time u'd get away with it but u'd get pulled over sooner or later. Not exactley what they'd charge you with tho... "Wrong Side Driving"?? lol

Why *Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored* Fords????? You my friend are a *Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored*. Just because it was made in the U.S. does not mean it sucks. If you take a mustang and do similar stuff you would wanna do to your japanese car it would handle well, and if you wanna drag race, domestics are the way to go.

My problem is the super-*Censored**Censored**Censored* emission laws trying to rob street legal cars of horsepower..(was recently pulled over because my muffler was illegal and it didnt meet CARB regulations or something lke that)

first off, if it is street legal, that means you pass all emission laws, so they wouldn't be robbing you of horse power, and secondly it is a STREET car, you don't need a wide f-in open exhaust. And if you like to worship japanese tuners, they say the same thing, just look at the touge battle series in best motoring.

Oh well, i don't see why you would want a car from japan that badly anyway. And i think that after 20 years you can import cars into the U.S. so if you just wait a little you;ll be cool.'

sry for the long post, just my opinion

                    - peace

sorry for the fords thing, but I was in a mood. I do like old mustangs and trucks, but anything new( from any company) sucks.

I don't think it's a matter of what side of the car the steering wheel's on. The thing is North America has been screwed by Japanese auto makers as well as others. Personally, I'm not at all impressed with just about everything available on the domestic market. Besides, wouldn't you love to have the oppotunity to buy a Mark II or Laurel or Accord Euro R? Or how about an Audi RS4 or S4 Advant or Renault Clio Sport or Seat Leon Cupra R? I'd love to have any of those cars.

Yeah. I think so. Maybe not as much by the Japanese now, but the Europeans also make alot of good stuff. Renault, for example, wasn't too good back in the 70s when they sold cars in the US but now they own Nissan. I think that's obviously a sign they're getting better. I have seen a Clio or two running around town but I have no idea where they were from. And you can't forget the Type Rs (from Honda). I'm still wating...
