That will affect the majority, along with poor skill, wrecks and general attrition due to screwing up on the streets and getting busted. That will keep most of the people out of Drifting. It mostly won't be because they thought their Mustang was going to tear up the little Importers. By now, it's pretty well known that Imports can hang with Domestics. To a certain point, then the Domestics just get completely radical and you get Top Fuelers. But on the street, Imports can hang. It's not a question about that anymore, its a question of preference. Do you want to drive Domestic or Import. Hell man, they are pretty much one in the same now. Everyone owns each other and makes parts for one another so it's really just name recognition.

I don't know if you saw it but I remember one underpowered Hachi of Alex Pfeiffer hang and almost pass Sam Hubinette in Atlanta.
Anyhow I'm hard on anyone who has an opinion with no real thought out explanation. Most of these people's "opinions" are formulated from uneducated minds and those opinions only further perpetuate the ignorance that surrounds this board. The only voice of sanity are those who actually compete and drive in drift days themselves. I guarantee you, if we poll this whole board and see who has attended more than two sanctioned drift events as a driver, we'd get a majority of people who don't drift, let alone have a license. Yet they have an opinion on it.
Domestics are welcome. Always. So many of you like to quote others by saing "naw dude, its all about the driver man". If so, what does it matter what the driver is driving?
For those of you who believe domestics don't belong, you're essentially having the same attitude that ignorant rednecks had against domestics before the first battle of the imports was put together.

The debate wasn't about how much power ALex has against other 86's, it was about the Viper HP vs Hachi HP.
I have attended one sanctioned event, I have participated in zero. But yet I have a license, I have taught stunt driving for a known institution and have run SCCA events. Not having attended a Drift day or a Formula Drift event does not mean someone doesn't know about Drifting. Now, the not having a license thing, well thats a little different. You at least have to be able to drive in my opinion to comment or debate a driving thread.

I'm far from being a pro drifter.... far far from it. I never claimed to be. I spin out and understeer with the best of them. I do drive in events when I can, and respect the positions of those who do the same. Not from those who steal banners off fences or flags from barriers like at the falken events. those are the people who seem to have a negative opinion of domestic drifting, and those are the people who have no place commenting on the phenomenon in general.
As for either for you driving, that's great. if you attend any motorsport events and drive, then obviously my statements didn't pertain to you.
this is drifting.com right? supposeably an all inclusive community to promote and benefit the sport of drifting? Well then, I'd say I do belong since I am both defending the domestic position in drifting and keeping those in check who need not bash what they neither participate in, nor are educated on. If you attend events only to watch, never drive in any events nor have a clue how parts actually benefit your car, there is no reason you should feel that domestics should be excluded from this sport.
