And when I buy my 86, it'll prolly have a lot of miles on it, so I was thinking about swapping it.
But yeah, I'll definetly take care of it, and I'm sick of hearing people tell me to just drop it and get a 240!

Corollas hard to maintain? Who told you that?
That's one of the most reliable cars ever. Here in PR you see them by the dozens in good conditions.
Their only drawback is that they rust easily , but some TLC should take care of that.
I would reccomend a Corolla for a daily driver. Even if you are a NOOB.

Uh no Thai, I was totally into buying your 240 my man. I just needed the money man, I even told you, but whatever, good luck with selling it to someone else I guess.
@PRC, just about every person on the forums said this. But whatever they say, I think I have the determination and care that I will give my car to run beautifully.

as far as it goes, if you buy a GTS you wont have to spend all that much money on it. it's gonna be the same as any other 20 year old car..
if you get a decent one you'll just spend money on maybe some cleaning products and usually some new shocks to replace the used ones..
as far as the cars go they're fairly cheap to mainain. just take care of it and stuff doestn really break. I've put a few thousand into mine but I bought an sr5 and IM in the middle of a GTS conversion.
if you want to put a turbo on it that will cost money. im not sure why you'd want to do a motor swap right away if you got a good running GTS. if you get used to the car with the stock 4AGE you'll be able to appreciate anything you add to it for power or whatnot

brakes and all
you can get the oversized performance brakes, but those are gonna cost like 2 grand.
if you have alot of time and money and the knowhow getting an sr5 isnt a bad deal

If you find one in good shape get it. I was really lucky with mine and I love it. I've done work to it and it hasn't been really cheap, but it's a great beginner car. Really easy to work on, and the parts are pretty cheap. SR5 parts are interchangable somewhat too. They are really tough too. Plus cops are less likly to think you're a ricer.

Thai Juku-
Im not sure if 240 brakes would work or not.. it's not an impossible thing to do, but you'd probably want to go with a kouki rear corolla GTS axle rather than the sr5 one.. cause Im guessing stronger brakes means you're going to try to get alot more power.
I havent noticed anyone having problems with the stock type brakes though.. and remember that most of your braking power needs to be in the front, unless you back up 70% more than you go forward.
I've looked at a few different brake systems online though I cant remember any names at the moment, but they make some brake kits that compared to stock look monstrous. but like I said before it'd be like $2000 for the whole thing. and that seems like an upgrade I'd wait for til the car is strictly for racing purposes only, or if you have money floating around like dust.
one thing I've noticed about doing an sr5 to GTS conversion is how much I learn about the car in such a short amount of time. so I know that when something breaks I'll be able to fix the problem quickly instead of wondering how to get to it or whatnot.
