The way drifting was originated was for the manufactures like APEX, Greddy, and HKS to show off how good thier products where. All the aftermarket parts used where bolt ons and available to purchase at your local speed shop. Even thier roll cages where bolt in. Now adays everything is custom this and custom that. The days of beable to compete as a privateer are almost over with the amount of money it takes to compete now. There is a separation between "pro" and amature but there shouldnt be a separation as to the cars that you use.

I love that you put us first Alex . Even though I think Drifting was originated by fun loving a$$holes up in the canyons...didn't think it was some conspiracy by import performance parts companies. Hehehe, should be the next X-Files movie. Thats just me talking, don't go docking Ryuji any points next year .

I really dont know how to respond to that. It wasnt myth on how drifting was brought into the mainstream (option vid, option mag, tokyo auto salon, then thier sponcers of aftermarket companies who get all the coverage in such media). There are always people running mountain roads but there would never have been the aftermarket support of such products without the mainstream side.

NASCAR was started by bootleggers, and Drifting was started by crazy kids in the mountains. You're right though, nothing ever goes mainstream without the help of sponsors/manufacturers and Media. Hay Alex how the hell have you been its john with the Camaro. What do fat chicks and scooters have in common LOL I had to throw that in.They are both fun to ride till your friends see you on it. I have rebuilt the car from ground up all new suspension new built Ls1.I have no clue what the car is going to and how to drive the thing, its is scary fast we have around 450 to the rear wheels. Are you still doing the drift day and are you still instructing.

Dont get me wrong I like scooters too just as much as my fat chicks LOL. I am glade you are still coming out to the drift day events. Hopefully I will start bringing the car out more next year and I am hoping to bring the ford explorer back out again we blew out one of the pistons what do you expect out of a ford but we have a new engine in it already.
