I agree, if you want a RHD car, head on over to Japan. Plenty of them there from what I hear and not too expensive. Honestly, if you wanna Drift, get a 240, put an LSD in it and go Drift. Heck you don't even need the LSD if you are starting out. Just get a car and slide it. Then, once you have made your fortune, get whatever car you want. Anyone working on a budget is not going to have a fun go at it with an imported car.

hey..yeah i'm a little late for this topic but well i kinda got a 180sx..its still in japan at the moment though..for real..i kidd u not..the reason for me getting one,well i've been in malaysia most of my life and well i'm used to rhd..i don't mind if u think i'm crazy or just retarded but i'm just more used to it..don't get me wrong i can drive Lhd..just when it comes to manuevering the car i prefer rhd..well that's just me..well i know i''m kinda retarded but well i just prefer it..i have pictures..not the best but well..i'll keep those who care posted..

why would you want to buy a rhd car in america unless you are like Faz? there is no point in emulating a over priced car. i could order some POS and if it was RHD i would be a hero. too me there is no point. i think people need a more grassroots approach. my car is going to be a $2005 challenge because that is what i have to make my car with. (not even...1,200) but im going to be happy with whatever i get even if it was 12 different shades of brown with a blue mirror. (it is not but it could be)

uh..thanks i think?I don't want to be flashy..i really don't..all i want to do is drift..compete..and well have fun..but yeah..i mean if not worse comes to worse i'll just keep the shell and transplant everything into a 240sx..i mean yeah it might be a waste but its not like i'm going to throw away the 180sx shell..i could always just send it back home to malaysia cause..well i'd want to be drifting no matter where i am..but thanks for the support i think blurgonator..but out of curiousity don't u need to like have papers for to convert it from LHD to RHD?Well that's what i heard..i don't know..i still would like to keep it as it is..as i said i'll take ur critisizms as it is..i'm a newbie..

oh sorry i did not mean to criticize you. i mean it might just be you feel the need to. its like left handed vs right handed stuff like scissors. some people just need to have one thing. but for someone who has never (not meaning you faz <8- ) because like you said you used them before) does not need to learn. i mean you dont keep the same car forever. you could try but bad things such as drunk drivers, accidents, hit and run accidents, damage from being towed, being stolen (RHD is very obvious <8- ), vandals (they are getting worse each day), and of course you would want to have some safety from getting "t-boned" but its not my money so good luck with whatever you

oh no..not at all dude..i understand where you're coming from..really..I'm just saying to other people,I understand how people might say oh i'm just pampering myself or something or like i should buck up and stop being a baby and just get a 240sx..well as u said it urself its my choice right?but well i do want to try at least legalize it..but planning on actually u know competing small time so it'll be a permanent drift car when i get a daily driver.. and well eventually moving to japan to further my knowledge on cars..as of right now just going to be an auto tech..pay off my loans as i learn japanese..and well move to japan with a friend as eventually i want to move back to malaysia(home country) and get my own shop started with a few friends..I'm used to jdm spec cars..but i want to be knowledgable in all cars..i do appreciate ur apology blurgonator..but ur forgiven eventhough u didnt have to dude..thanks for the respect..as u deserve mine too..

Hahahaha...Funny you should mention that...The closest In and Out I live to, has a 2 lane drive-thru, one that was made for LHD and the other is made RHD use!...

The only points to having a RHD drive car that I can see is to A, say you got one and B, drive through drive thru's backwards to get a laugh. They are a pain to drive and hard to judge distance. Mine was fun for about 3 days, then I sold it.

well seeing as i dont know the american importing laws i wont say anything on the subject exept DAMN! you guys are unlucky having to pay a legalising fee and all that!

do you have to pay that if you want a race only vehicle too?

in australia we dont, and we only have to pay our imjport tax and gst. and the car has to have no damage histroy and be appropriately fitted with safety mounts for baby seats and crap.

i was extremely close to buying a GTR a few months ago, i planned on driving straight to inNout and hitting the short line. theres one down the street from rbmotoring too...
oh well


as for taxes on race only vehicles, they are no where near as bad if they arent gonna be driven on the street.
