CrazyHawaiian is on point with this

      the swap is ez

You may want to think about FI on the v8 with a Manual swap. I can get plates and custom housings,LSD etc. for the 1uzfe if you were ready to dive into it....that would be PIMP!!

      Lots of engine/tranny options

Focus on balance of the car and suspension. The torque and power are there.

I ran a fairly built 1uzfe with an auto tranny that did very well. Im building dedicated Drifting cars and not really into Lexus cars anymore.

Just do a lot of reading and ask lots of questions. Those that dont know will tell you it cant be done, too expensive or you shouldnt even try it....dont listen. Study and decide what YOU are able to do.

      Good luck

        Wow,
that was a lot of flame... I'm sorry guys if I don't know EVERYTHING about a 2jz. And thanks for the people with the support, I'm going to try and get this thing started as soon as possible.
Pictures will be up tonight of my car in it's current form.

And for those people who said it's not possible, it is, and atleast I'm doing something different, rather then following the 240 crowd...

And thanks drifter girl and Hawaii for your info, it truly helps!

Who's following the 240 crowd? How much do you have budgeted for this project?

I also say do it. If it is what you want, then there is no reason that you shouldn't go ahead and do it. I some day hope to own/drift a Sc300 with a 2jz swap. (maybe I could use your work as a reference!?!) I've had lots of people tell me that I shouldn't do it because Its expensive, not a lot of parts (which I have found to be complete B.S.), and its a luxuary car thats can't drift. Well, I dont care. It is what i want and its what I am going to do. So I say DO IT!

Who gives a crap if everyone is following the "240 crowd"..Everyone is being a "follower" because the car is cheap and easy as hell to get drifting.

But yeah, I say go for the 2JZ swap, that'd be some pimp sheet! And nextboost or whatever he probablly called it a "2JZ' like myself because writing out "2JZGTE" takes too long. And thanks for varifying that its an inline 6 instead of a V6 (even though everyone knew what he was talking about". You usually want wait until you have atleast 10 posts before coming out as a smarta** know it all.

                Lol,
ok, enough of the insults. Thanks for your compliments, and I'd be honered if my work would be a refrence!

And tuner, I don't have much yet, but I'll be saving up about 4 grand. I have connections to get cheap installation.
                I think I remember seeing a 2jz for like under 1k.

You're a bit late on the smarta$$ comment.

I'm sorry but you were beaten out

Well since you said you would do it, you'd better do it...

I just want to see the development of the car... BTW, that car is going to weigh a ton, please do a good strip job and make it light too. Document what you did to make it light also...

                      Matt.

He said "standard 2jz" which I would take to mean a 2jz-ge -- the non turbo variant of the 2jz-gte. Had he wanted to swap in a 2jz-gte, I'd be more inclined to be supportive. However since he was not aware that the engine is an inline six and not a V6, I suspect this is just one of the millions of internet "Im gonna do it someday" dreams, as it is obvious little to no research has been done.

Here are just a few of the many problems you're likely to come up against:

Engine mounts (I'm not aware of a 2jz option in the LS series cars, but if there was this might be as simple as ordering a toyota part).

Crossmember/oilpan clearance -- if there was a 2jz offering for the LS, than this would be simple -- otherwise it's probably custom...

Transmission mounts: custom unless there was a 2jz engine offered with a manual transmission

Driveshaft: custom unless there was a 2jz engine offered with a manual transmission

Radiator/fan clutch/fan shroud -- will the original one work, or will you have to customize?

Powersteering and air conditioning -- will you have to relocate and/or make custom lines?

Wiring -- were you planning on getting the dashboard gauges to work properly with the new engine and ECU?

                          Exhaust -- obviously custom

                          Intake -- obviously custom

Anti-lock brakes, traction control -- were you planning on trying to wire these systems into the new powertrain control system?

Again, I'm not saying it isn't possible. However I'm almost positive it's going to be over the head of the original poster. However if daddy can give him a lexus, daddy can probably drop the car off at a shop capable of doing the swap...

And how about you shut up. My dad has nothing to do with this, so don't go around talking like you know stuff.
And just because I was mistaken by a 2jz v6, doesn't require 2 pages of flame and rudeness. I'm sorry, alright? It was a stupid remark, I'm sorry it's not a v6!!!

And I don't need to do reaserch on it, becuase I already have checked it off with friends.

                            @Craftsman...
What are you trying to imply, that I'm not? Sounds like you think I'm not going to do it, and back away. And I don't have to "document" my progress if everyone just keeps flamming.

My friend is opening up a tuner shop and he does engine work too.

Heres some pictures of my car.

I think my engine picks seem shaken, my arms were killing me, couldn't keep em steady.
