      Dear all,

here are the Rotora D1 Driver stats:

      Ernie Fixmer:
      Age: 26
      Birth Date: February 19, 1977
Birth Place: Los Angeles, CA. USA
      Height: 5’ 7”
      Weight: 155 lbs.
      Car: Nissan 240SX (S13) Hatchback

Born in Los Angeles, California and raised in Washington State, Ernie Fixmer was first exposed to drifting in Japan while joining the US military in August of 1998 after completing a 2-year AAS technical degree in Diesel/Heavy Equipment. Stationed in Okinawa, Ernie discovered the underground world of drifting on the empty nighttime streets. Spending the next 3 years in Okinawa practicing and refining his drifting skills in a Toyota Corolla (AE86), Ernie became a member of a highly respected Okinawa drifting team called: Murder.
In July of 2001, Ernie returned to the U.S. with his new found talent and immediately began building a Nissan 240SX hatchback to suit his driving style. His first competition at the RSR Drift Festival, Ernie took third place. With this accomplishment, he later competed in the U.S. Drivers Search and qualified in the top 8. So begins his drifting career, Ernie signs with Rotora in June of 2003 as one of its official drift pilots in preparation to compete in his first ever D1 Grand Prix series held in Irwindale Speedway, California on August 31st.
With Rotora’s drift spec. 240SX, Ernie succeeded in placing in the top 16 (along with the Japanese Pro D1 drivers) and went head-to-head in a sudden death round with Japan D1 points leader, Yuoichi Imamura. Today, a U.S. points leader himself, Ernie Fixmer has become a mainstay in the drifting spotlight.

      Ken Gushi
      Age: 17
      Birth Date: September 19, 1986
      Birth Place: Okinawa, Japan
      Height: 5’ 8”
      Weight: 130 lbs.
      Car: Nissan 240SX (S13) Coupe

Despite his young age, there is no denying that Ken Gushi, 17 can be labeled as a rising star in drifting. Born in Okinawa, Japan, he and his family immigrated to the U.S. in 1988. Ken first began driving a car at age 8 when he sat behind the wheel of a 1971 4 speed manual transmission Datsun, and drove it in his father's garage in San Gabriel, California. Soon enough, Ken assisted his father around the auto body shop by moving customer cars around.

At the age of 13, Ken's father took him to a dry lake with a 1986 Toyota Corolla (AE86) and there he developed and refined his drifting skills under the guidance of his father. Within 2 years, Ken was active among local drift scenes and competed in local competition with a 1992 Nissan 240SX. In the beginning of 2003 did not start off promisingly for Ken. He struggled from broken transmissions to driving errors. Finally, in June of 2003 at the U.S. Drivers Search, Ken finished in the top 8 qualifiers, thereby securing an open invitation for the D1 Grand Prix. In that same month, Ken Gushi joins with Ernie Fixmer as the official drift pilots for Rotora to compete in the D1 series with a Nissan 240SX (S13) coupe held in Irwindale Speedway, California on August 31st. With this accomplishment, 16 year old Ken Gushi became the youngest competing D1 Grand Prix driver in history, all this without even a drivers license. Though he did not place in the top rounds at D1, Ken’s performance would be termed a success and becoming a hero for the younger generations. Today, Ken is considered the most gifted young drifters in the U.S. At such a young age, to excel his drifting skills is: inevitable.
