  • jzx in D1GP

why don't they use the jzx-90 in D1GP? i'm a big fan of 4door sedans drifting. the only toyota sedan i know of is takahashi's jzx-100. i think the jzx-90 has a lot of potential. is it because it's an old model. Why?

use what works well, the only 4dr ive seen be really successful on a consisten basis is nomuken, otherwise its a bunch of corollas and silvias. Dont fix what aint broke man. There is a gto drifting around on the d1gp, thats pretty usdm if i say so myself.

Then buy one, get good and get one in D1. People aren't going to drive a different car because you want them too. They probably have a personal preferance, as do I. Besides that, companies that sponsor drivers aren't going to sponsor a car they don't make stuff for and they aren't going to make stuff for a car that no one really uses. The only times you will see unique cars is when they are majorly sponsored by a custom tuning shop because sometimes they want to show what they can do with any platform.

there is a price to pay in order to be different.

its very easy for us to volunteers someone else to pay that kind of price.

there certain cars that drifts really well. You can't say, well, if you had the skill, you can drift anything and win with it. Cause at that level, the skills of the top drivers are pretty much on par. they differ only in style and the car they drive. And hell, sometimes they don't even differ in those two. USD1, top 3 of 4 are 400-500hp Silvia s15s. There is a reason for that.

All that to say, you gotta have some balls and huge amount of confidence (and $$) to stray from the paved road and expect to do as well.
