Alright boys and girls, someone should advise me. I know that i could've searched and possibly found some of this information, but i think my question is a little more specific.
i'm hopefully purchasing the 240 i'm going to look at today (rps13hatch/stick) i want to fix it's problems (replace the slave cylinder, figure out why it's only bangin on two cans) and then i think it will be time for a little tlc in the way of aftermarket. Christmas is comin up and i don't have a job, so it's a great opportunity to score parts. I agree with alot of you that a seat and harness are important first parts, but also with the others that suspension is the most important first part. I want a seat and harness so that i can communicate with the car instead of fighting it. But it doesn't seem logical to me to glue myself to a car that isn't gonna talk back much, until i've done some chassis tuning. I'd like your opinion on that, but my main question is this:
i'm using the names of these parts as general examples, not specifics that i may (eventhough i may) purchase. I was looking at chassis tuning for an s13. Alot of spring/shock(strut?) combos are available, but are expensive. 300-400 for a set of dampers and 200 for springs puts me at 5 or 600 dollars, with little to no adjustability, which i want. (i want the lack, not adjustability) I'm sure you're all familiar with tein's basic coilover set. I wondered if any of you thought it would be a better choice for a first suspension. At a little over 700dollars, it's not much more expensive, offers (from what i understand) a little bit stiffer spring rates, the shock body and spring are matched "perfectly" and the ride height (but not dampening) is adjustable. I don't want to adjust dampening force, i just want to drive, when i get good i'll worry about tuning. Anyways, sorry about the book, but, if you could give opinions on my susp question, i'd greatly appreciate.
