well i finally got aroundto taking apart my motor that popped last winter, and as i suspected the rear rotor was the culprit but it looks like the front rotor was well on its way. In the first pic you'll see that one of the rear rotor corners got pinched but that's not what caused the motor do die. one of the apex seals decided to break into like 5 pieces and take the rotor and housing with it.
