  • Drifting PASEO???

Ok I watched Tuner Transformation and was suprised to find something worth a look. The guys basically got a Toyota Paseo, and made it RWD, droped a Toyota 22R-E engine from the 4X4 i think and basically made it a drift car. I for one was impressed by the vast knowledge these guys have, its obvious that the show hasnt really used all of theyre intelligence towards cars. Did anyone else see this episode? http://www.tunertransformation.com/

      HAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHA

I watched it, it was hilarious!!! The ugliest thing alive!!!

22R with a "live" rearend, and he said that it had all independent suspension, had me busting!

That Hans or whatever old guy was narrly, he knew his shiit, even though he had to work on some crappy paseo. I wished I would have seen some of his other work.

Tray drifting!!!! Jack?? Whatever his name, can't even drive! He was pulling muscle car dounuts, I loved it!

Hey are you being scarcastic about those guys "vast" knowlegde?? I hope so, because if you've seen any other episodes, you would know they're idoits with a TV show.

"We made turner tires for turner wheels" -Talking about new Fusion tires. Mwhahahahaah

They could have put some damn ugly kit on it, at least!!

I guess they don't know the difference between understeering and drifting.

Oh yeah, they should have put a 3s into it. Buuuuttt it is a paseo, not like it needs that much power.

Yeah, he's a great guy. I see him at the track all the time. He has built tubular front clips for a bunch of Twin-Turbo Porsche 911's (usually with 935 bodywork, and 650 to 700 bhp). He is currently building a fully tubeframe chassis for a guy I raced against, to replace the car in the pic below. (I believe he fabricated the front end of this Porsche in the pic below... it got demolished in this exact race. went hard backwards into the wall, and hard enough that it ripped the engine right off the back of the car)

Oh, and about the Paseo... what a terrible car they created. Look at how far forward the engine sits. All the cylinders are *ahead* of the front axle line. Also, 350 lb springs in the front, and 550 lb springs in the rear?? No wonder "JacMac" was spinning the thing all over the place. The car needs to have balance to be a good drifter. This car is sprung WAY too stiffly in the rear compared to the front, and the weight distribution is too far towards the front. If that guy can drift that piece of scrap, he'll be able to drift in D1 in any other car. I think that car should be relegated to burnout/donut machine, and nothing more.

Oh yeah I forgot how far forward that engine was, it had so much room in the back too! 2 inches for clearance for it to rock, yea, uh huh.

I believe he had it 550 in the front and 450 in the back, he said because were putting more weight in the front. hahah

YEA, you spotted that too! I saw how far in front it was I was DYING but still, when I said they knew what they were doing, I stick to it, cause I doubt anyone would even consider that as a drift car.

Not them but Hans did...watch when they made the 240/Silvia and put in the engine. They didn't do any work to it. Or anythign really.

They put the silvia face on it, and then showed the SR and then showed the SR in the the 240. They didn't show them working on it at all. Another waste of time. If you really want to watch a cool show watch Overhauled, they do some real work even though they don't do imports.
