Well, if we apply the standard racing model. One of three things will happen to the cars.

#1 - team car: A second driver will be hired or will pay (depending on sponsorship dollars) to drive the older car either full time or at selected events.

#2 - sold: Simple as that, the car will be sold to another competitor or someone who has entirely different plans for it.

#3 - gutted: Anything and everything that can be used on the new car or is of particular value to the team will be taken out of the old car and the hulk will be either put in storage (in short track racing, this is usually a field behind the shed), scrapped, or sold.

                    Formula D 2005
The Form D guys pulled a motorsports coup with the lauch of North America’s first drifting championship last year. For 2005, they are continuing to push the barriers with an expanded 6-round series and a new TV package that will increase the exposure of Formula D and drifting to never before seen levels. The new production partnership with G4 Tech TV will put the series and its participants in front of 25 million homes. That’s a lot of TV’s. Renewed and new partnerships with, SCCA Pro Racing, Drift Association and DG trials will ensure that this the main drift series in the nation. New features of the series for next year will include pre-event TV ads, jumbotrons at each event, a team drift challenge, a new judging format, and a X-games type lifestyle.

So I've gotta haul out to Chi-town, eh? Ah well, guess that means stopping at Anderson or IRP on the way out.
