Yes yes , no amount of my bitching will change the past. I just want to open some peoples eyes so they are not decieved.

YES I will be at Grind tomorow (got to keep my perfect atendance record!) and i will be driving my S13 coupe (black with a hood that looks like a chalkboard) just got back from gettin some more tires so i should have about 30 to destroy tomorow. Stop by i will take you for a ride. My name is Casey.

PS i am letting quite a few people drive my car so dont be surprised if you see different levels of driving skill being displayed in the same car. (dont think its me when james is out there understeering the whole course LOL)

First, thanks for the comments about the hot rod article. We did not write it so please don't flame us about the wording of the article.

Second, let me set some things straight.

Hell Camino, we took on the name after the annoucer was calling us that. I did not know about the monster garage show at the time, even so the name Hell Camino has been around long before monster garage - there is even a band called Hell Camino.

The 240z is Derricks, and he has been working on it since before he started drifting - it was going to get a turbo lt1, but it has been put on hold because of the drifting.

Casey's talking crap. At FD houston derrick had a lot more speed and angle going into the first turn, watch him close on Forsberg - he didn't have a manual trans to clutch kick so he had to throw it hard sideways. Forsberg had a better line and was more consistent. Yes the crowd may have had an effect - but not as much as you are making it to be.

Now this pisses me off, at Drift Show Off Derrick did not spin like you are saying. He had some of the best runs there, if the BMW hadn't spun twice in a row we probably would have gotten second. I've got the whole Drift Show Off on tape if you want to see the runs and your lame *Censored**Censored**Censored* runs to compare the two. How far did you advance? How did you do at FD? We've been cool to you so i don't know where all of this BS is coming from unless it is jealousy.

Derrick will be running at the Grind event tomorrow as well.

We have put a lot of time and effort into this stuff and don't like someone talking crap about we are just all image.

We have been working the last few weeks, trying to get sponsorship money and will be going to SEMA. We're driving out tomorrow evening so we won't be around to answer the boards for awhile.

Well I will post my reply quickly so that you can see it.

The name- i could care less. Use whatever makes you happy. God knows i cant talk about team names!

The Z- All the info i have has been learned through the local grapevine. Im not part of your click so i must stay abreast of you (my competition) by any means necessary. You know how people like to talk about "pro" drivers. Notice that i never said that my info was fact. But i was really hoping that Derrek was going to live HIS dream and not everybody elses. I would love to see a V8 Zcar slidin around.

How am i talking crap? I never said anything about MY driving abilities, but to answer your question. I placed in the top 8 at drift showoff with a stock open diff. S13 and less than a month of seat time total. I feel proud of that, i espescially feel proud of beating both Keith and Yuda who were driving much more prepared S13s as well. I didnt win but i didnt think i deserved to. But i dont think Derrek deserved to win either. I knew he would the seccond i heard the crowd light up for him, but i never thought he deserved it. And i think it went straight to his head.

I realized at FD houston that i was in the big leagues and didnt have the skills to compete yet, but i didnt go in ther thinking i would qualify in the first place so i was happy with my results. I had fun, learned alot and got alot of much needed perspective. Which is why i did not try to take my amature act on the road like ya'll did. I feel better with 0for1 than i would with 1for3.

I never said IMAGE. I dont think thats the right word. I said exactly what i meant NOVELTY. And eventually that novelty will wear off and people will see the truth.

I have never had the desire to ask, but since you ARE the owner of the car, how would you feel about Me and Derrek both drive it and see who looks better? Or we could both drive my S13. Just a thought.

Daym sounds like some drama to me. Don't hate, appreciate! I'll admit that I'm a little jealous you guys get so much sponsorship, but I'm not gonna go around talking crap about you guys. I think you guys are doing great with your project and I hope to see the car in competition again. The only reason I'm kinda jealeous is because we've been drifting Camaros for a long time, but our events are so far away, we're never gonna get noticed. Plus the local competition is really good and that makes it hard to even place. We have had 2-3 chances for some mainland coverage over the past few years but we either didnt show or had bad/off days. So we're stuck burning up used tires for the rest of our lives hahaha. Still, no reason to talk crap about anyone else. As long as we can still hit it up then who cares. I say forget all these haters.

Oh BTW, congrats for making the Magazine!!

                WOW!!
I just wanted to let people konw about the feature, not start another flame fest. Christ people. I don't know about"idol", but Derrick and James have inspired me and alot of other people I'm sure. Not to knock other domestic drifters, but I've only seen the Camino, so I guess I'm a little biased.

Well me being a part of the crowd at drift show off...I do think that Derrick should not have won...The guy in the Black Supra and the Dude in the BMW were doing better in my opinion...Don't get me wrong Derrick was doing good out there but those people were doing just as good if not better...BUT!!! We gotta remember Drifting is a sport that has to do with style and pleasing the crowd...The El Camino Pleased the crowd and produced smoke while doing it so it won...I have nothing against neither Casey or Derrick and James...I think both of you guys are great people and have enormous amount of skills...compared to me ...I have met both of you guys and you guys are great people...IMO Derrick and Casey have improved greatly since then...I agree with casey on some points but with everybody else in others...Right now we can't really say one is better than other b/c both of you guys have different styles...

Well this is just my 2 cents...

Good Luck to Both of you and See Ya out there...

Thanks Emilio! I just wanted to clarify that i am not saying that i am a better driver than Derrek or that Derrek is a bad driver. My driving skill has nothing to do with this at all. My only beef is that ya'll recieve recognition/attention due to the vehicle and not your driving skill.

It was shocking to say the least to see the El Co in HotRod. I couldn't believe that one of the most respected domestic mags was actually covering drifting. I wish they would've gone into a bit more detail. One thing did tick me off though: They still haven't given Revlimit or Crazy Hawaiin any coverage, and they were drifitng 1-2 years before Rhys was.

Z28Evans: How's the car working now that it has 100 extra hp? Have you guys changed anything suspension wise so that the car wasn't over-powered, or did the car just take the power without much drama?

Hopefully, now that more people have seen the Camino, there will be more non "import" features on domestic drift. I think that the Crazy Hawiian should fire off some pics/info to Chevy HiPreformance magazine, or to Car Craft. Now that Jeff Smith is at the controls, he's had a Camaro featured in or on the cover each month. He even likes turning twisties VS drags!

suspension is still pretty much the same, just some brake modifications. the car was already pretty stout drivetrain wise, it was originally a budget drag car. its handling the power pretty well. since the ls1 swap theh only drivetrain problem we had was a bad cas ( apparently tracked ls1 have this probelm a lot) alternator and a cooling problem, we got a stouter alternator and griffin was nice enough to solve our cooling probelms so its holding up well now. before sema we went to a dailydrifter event with it ( derrick is a judge ) and it was working great all day.

if you think derrick only won showoff / qualified 7th at fd houston then maybe you should take it up with koguchi/yamamoto/drift association for him winning drift showoff. matuecci in the m3 was doing very well, and who knows what would have happened if he didnt spin in the slalom 2nd to last round. the supra line was great, however his angle was kinda weaksauce compared to everyone elses, great great line though. but we won, and got a lot of attenion from it. sorry you didnt do well, we have some video of you if you think you shoudl have won, im sure everyone will agree you should have won it

FD houston, the el co had somethe best exit speed ont he 1st corner of the day. our equipmetn was total crap compared to everythign. the tires we were using were scrapped firestones off a c4 i got from a firestone place and some used mustang tires a freind from aTm sports car club gave us. and 205 azenis up front. non adjustable supensoin , auto trans, probably less power than every sr there. YOU on the other hand were in a super easy to drift is300 with tein suspensoin, 2 way, turbo, everything you could want to drift minus a clutch. ive driven that car at a drift event, before i had my car and much seat time i drifted the entire course after i spun 1st turn due to too much turbo powah, its so easy/fun to drift its insane. ive also driven the el camino at an auto-x and a drift event, it udnersteers (even in drift), and dont get me started on how annyoing the manual steering and huge ratio it had was on transition. derrick was impressive all day, qualifiying seventh, in a car that was totally inferior to everyting out there ( should have had an SR ) however you were in a car you had driven counltess times at dailydrifter events, and you couldnt handle the pressure, and where almost crying in the pits all dayb/c you couldnt drift the course at all. yet you are wondering why we are getting attention and you arent?

your not a bad driver, you just need to get your emotions/head fixed. and quit trying to shoot down anyone/everyone around you whos getting somewhere. and i find it really lame you make this attack on us while we were at vegas trying to get sponsors at sema knowing good and well we wouldnt see it for a good while. maybe you shoudl stop trying to challenge/shoot down/lie about people making htem out to be a thief people and you might get somewhere.

How did this go from me correcting somebody about the identities of people in Bubba Drift to Mikespeed bashing me and my driving ability?
