I can't see what the hangup is - as long as people emphasize the safety aspect it should be no problem. You don't see people driving NASCARs or stock cars around or anything, but they build them in their garages. Drifting is another form of motorsport, that's all. (or that's what the general public should see it as)

Formula D sounds good to me! I dont care who sponsors the events or how much money they make. More power to them. As long as I can legally drift, then I'm happy. I'm building a crazy domestic drift car and I'll be hitting the track with no regrets practicing for my chance to compete in the mainland US events (same with all other Hawaii drivers and their chosen car platform). My only issue is I hope that Hawaii is not left out here. Because we live in between the US and Japan and the travel costs are much higher I have a feeling there is a good chance our local drivers will not get a chance to compete. The Drift Showoff was good because it gives us confidence that Hawaii will be included, I hope it dosnt stop there. I want to say thanks to all you guys involved with getting this sport off the ground. I dunno why everyone is so pissed off about the sponsors. I dont really like APC either, but someone has to front the cost to do these events. As long as I can drift on a track with no cops around and not endangering anyone then I'm happy. I dont care who is paying for the events or how much money they make off it. But if it all does go down the toilet, then you can bet the Hawaii enthusiasts (me included) will be chipping in to rent the track out ourselves. As long as we can drift then we're happy. Thats all that matters.
