I mean Calvin is one of the coolest cats out there and does so much for the sport at the grassroots level. And about Ben Schwartz, just shut up! You don't know him. He is awesome and one of the best up and coming drivers out there. Congrats on the Dynamic/Falken factory ride Ben!

Man, those drivers might not be the best but they have so much heart! Like Calvin Won... He's gotten so much better. Ben Schwartz too...

I do think those drivers deserve the attention that they're getting. The whole Drift Alliance will show you guys...

tonesdef: I know you can voice out your opinion whatever way you want here and I don't give a f. But I can't let you bash on members of Team Falken. Who are you to judge whether we suck or not?! Sorry, but the picture of you drifting you posted on imagestation.com did not really impress me. Do you actually know what drifting is? Do you know the time, effort, money, blood and sweat we have put into this to get to where we are now?

I can't imagine Ben being a prick neither. Both Calvin and Ben are cool as f. Their driving has always been inspiration for all of us. We push each other to perform better and better every time.

I invite you to come visit us at the Falken booth when we go to Chicago and please feel free to voice out your opinion there in person.

Its hard enough as it is getting events going etc etc. , we dont need more *Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored* put on us because we're not on the east/west coast... see you all at JGTC/D1 december...

You don't personally know those people. While I don't know Ben, I do know Calvin, and a few others.

During an event, these guys have to work their a$$es off. They have to set up the cars, drive them, and diagnose any problems. They also have to entertain their fans at the same time...many of which don't realize that these guys have things to constantly do. So while they may come off as a "prick"...they probably don't mean to do so. They have a lot of things to think about. While you just sit back in the sidelines and "critique" them.

Even the pros (Koguchi and the other drivers) are constantly thinking about their cars. They don't have a professional pit crew (ala NASCAR or F1 style). These guys have a small crew...but they get their hands dirty in fixing the problem.

If you got "skills" on the level that you imply you have...I had better see you among the rankings of the top drifters. If not...well...I'll just leave it at that.

This has just gotten stupid. Ok I’m sorry I upsetted a few of you. But opinions are opinions and you’re going to have to get use to hearing them. Last time i saw Calvin he blew but that was also a tape from a year ago so he may have improved. If he did that’s great and good to hear he got 4th overall which means he did improve. I don't spend a whole bunch of money if that on option tapes and don't keep updated on FD so if he improved that’s great. I also live in the Midwest and yeah not a whole lot past HIN rolls through here.

Now to Ben. If he was the one driving the s14 that broke down at RS*R to me he came off as a prick. I honestly don't know if it was him but i think it was. A buddie let him borrow and use his s14 for the rest of the day so he could keep competing. Well Ben didn't even thank him and figured it was his right or that the kid should feel special that he was driving his car. Which is bull he may have a lot on his mind i'm sure he did. But he didn't even say thank you so yeah he came off as a prick.

And to Hubert guess what just like you i don't give a f if you were impressed or not. Just so you know that drift day my clutch was slipping so bad that my car wouldn't go past 70 on the high way and really didn't like more than 5% throttle but i still went out and had fun and drifted it up. I have also put a lot of money and time and blood into my car. There wasn't a thing on the car i didn't do. If you think I’m a newb that’s great but like you said i don't give an f and either should you. It’s an opinion and if this little one rocked your guys boats so bad you really shouldn't be in a world of competition because people will always talk *Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored* and always try to bring you down.

I hope you guys make it out to FD in Chicago to change my opinion i saw a few drivers that I didn’t like before at RS*R and now I like them. So if i pissed you off I’m sorry. Other than that I’m done with this.

You obviously talk out of your *Censored**Censored**Censored*. You don't know much about cars and you simply don't know much about anything else. Dont assume anything if you really have no idea. Calvin has been doing Drifting for quite sometimes. We hold Private Events in Cali and he would be out there all the time. So what, he crash during D1 but everyones crashes. Don't assume again if you really have no idea, GTFO and don't make any opinions before you make an *Censored**Censored**Censored* of yourself again.

I'm close friends w/ the guys at Falken. And this thread makes me laugh.

You're entitled to your opinions. That is right. But if you got real balls...tell that to Calvin and Ben's face.

I would DEFINITELY pitch in to a fund to hold a drifting event to watch all of the Falken drivers versus tonesdef. Key invited drivers would be..of course...Calvin Wan and Ben Schwartz.

Sounds like you are experienced in talking shxt! What you said is one thing I strongly disagree about the drift scene.

I have been in road racing and auto crossing for a few years before I started drifting and what I noticed is exactly how you described it - almost everyone sees each other as enemy. It is this one thing that I don't like about road racing and autocrossing. Yes, I know, it's reality in competition. However, what I notice in the drift scene is the exact opposite. Almost everybody is friends to each other. We back each other up, help each other on the track and not feeling hostile when we compete. We just go out and do our best and have fun! I hope this culture in drifting will last. Unfortunately, people like you is just going to ruin it.

Enough said, I think it's time to put this thread to rest. No point talking to someone with only unconstructive opinions.

Guess I better step in here, in Ben's defense, and my own.

Ben drives an S13, and I don't think he broke down that day. Sounds like you are talking about me, Tony Schulz... yellow S14 broke down, then borrowed Dave Scheiding's car.

I don't know where you get off saying I didn't thank him... I did, MULTIPLE times. I wouldn't expect you to even know unless you hinged on my every word, unless Dave said something to that effect... in which case I don't know he would have the idea I never said "Thanks" either.

Plus I've called him twice since the event, chatted at length the second time, including giving my condolences for the car he recently lost. Hell, I even sent him $100 from my prize money from that event, despite being on the brink of bankruptcy.

But obviously, if Ben or I were pricks, we would naturally suck at drifting and have no place on Pro drift teams.

GREAT . . . not only are you guys coming to chicago to compete, but now it seems like you guys cant wait to come to Embarass chicago....99% of the enthusiasts here CANNOT wait for Formula D to come just for the EXPERIENCE of an actual COMPETITION and to be part of the scene with the REST of you guys..."please remember" ONE person that says something negative does not represent the whole city/scene that he/she is from........................i'm replying for the sake of chicago...we have not even had ONE real competition, and now we've got PRO's looking down on us already, and thats is "F'd" up... i dont know what you guys thought us then, but i'm almost certain that you dont think any good of us now, because of one person...its hard enough to do anything good here since we're not by an ocean, and now is getting even more difficult because of a smart mouth.....WACK!!!
