....lol..... An 86 is a Corolla, that is the chasis code. The 86-88 Toyota corolla is the AE86. Now if your talkin japanese 86, then you cant get one, you can put a japanese engine in it, and get a trueno bodykit if you want it to look completly jdm, but theres no real point to. But yeah, that is an 86 and its a Corolla, they are one in the same haha.

i thought ae86's were from 84-87 and they have the same engine as the japanese ones if its a gt-s, the engine is the 16v twincam 4age, while the sr-5 rocks a sohc 4ace. same engine as aw11 first gen mr2 love those little buggers specially with the 4agze

Friction, yeah M5-Drifter dosen't know what he is talking about. The Hachi Roku or 86 was sold in the US between 84-87 as the corolla gts. You are right saying the sr5 had the sohc, it also does not have a LSD. The SR5 has the Hachi chassis but that is it. Being a hachi owner my self I have quite a bit of knowledge about these vehicles. There are some minor differences between the Bluetop 4age (USDM) and the Redtop 4age (JDM) roughly the same engine. Also there are two different trueno front ends the Zenki and Kouki. Zenki was the first style same as Takumi's from initial D, the later is the Kouki found on Katsuhiro Ueo's 86, J-Blood makes a kouki kit for the USDM corolla but it eliminates the center part of your front bumper so not as safe as the USDM model this can be rectified by welding a metal plate across the front bumper brakets that are needed to convert the USDM to JDM Kouki. I think the kouki looks good but too many are switching over to it so I am going the Zenki route. My hachi in Panda trueno and is seam welded and braced out the wazou. These are fun cars but not meant for everbody. If you want to drift these cars you better be pretty good at car control and decent drifting skills otherwise you won't be able to. If your in the market for one expect to pay 2,000 to 3,500 for a nice gts. Less than two and expect something wrong with it.
