I don't fully know what the scorcher T/A's are but if they are the tires that BFG makes that have the line down them that is colored then no, these are not the same tires.

They are tires that Kumho came up with that when they burn they smoke red. In looking at them they looked like normal tires (at least on the sides they did, didn't look at all of the tire though) and until they got smoking you couldn't tell that they would smoke red.

the tires compound contains the red smoking chemical, but it appears to be a normal tire until you start smoking it. no red lines in the tires.

what are the name of the tires and do they have any other colors out or planned
                --------------------

the tire is a special version of the ECSTA MX dubbed the MX-C.

They developed the right mix of chemicals and now have a patent pending for their colorful compound (they’ve also developed a compound that produces blue tire smoke). Following successful testing, KUMHO produced a limited number of the tires.
“We don’t intend to sell the ECSTA MX-C to the general public,” said KUMHO brand director Rick Brennan. “We built them to demonstrate our forward thinking, technical capabilities and ability to respond quickly to the market.
I sure there are ways regular people that are into motorsports(drifting) can get a hold of these

side note : No company spends the time and effort to make colored smoke tires than not get the money back...well unless that company is microsoft.

The tires (RED SMOKE) are for sale to the public. At $2,000 a tire, I doubt you'll be seeing them soon, not to mention, I think they only come in 1 size (255/35/17).

And not get there $$$ back? We are talking about Kumho tires right now....that ='s exposure. Exposure ='s sales. In a market dominated by Falken (or so it seems), this was a great advertising move to get people talking about Kumho.
