Just wondering what is the preferred video camera for taping in car parts as well as taping events. Try to list the benefits if you know them...

Get a Mini DV camcorder. The benefit of that is you can edit the video on your computer with Adobe Premier. Make your own video and add titles, music, whatever.

If you are on a tight budget, I would reccomend getting a Digital8 camera. A Sony, of course. I believe the only difference is that a MiniDV camera records at 600 lines of resolution, and Digital8 records at 540. A difference that can only be noticed on a monitor (NOT a computer monitor). And the price difference is favorable if you aren't trying to drop a C-note.
