Nismo is nissan's performance division. Stands for Nissan Motorsports International.. (dont ask how.. you know how the japanese are.... remember pokemon)

Nismo has produced specal nissans and sold them with the name Nismo, for example the Nismo 270R was a S14 pushing out 270 horse power, body kit, probably modified suspension.

they have made a number of vehichles in that fashion. Just consider them the equivlent of TRD or Mopar or any other (except mugen! mugen is a seperate company founded by the son of the founder of honda.. so they work together exclusively but its actualy a seperate entitiy)

escorts are made by mazda, and you can get mazdaspeed parts. id rather have a cosworth tho...they are like STi's or Evo's

lol, i dont really know why...but even in the owners manual it says mazda. The probe is based on the mx6 and the escort it based on the mx3. you can see the resemblence.... thats all i know

Well Ford bought Mazda some time ago. I think Ford actually built the car chassis and stuff, but the probe engine and the miata engine are the same aren't they? I think the original Escorts were made before Mazda was bought. I don't know if any of this is right. Just some guesses. I only know that Mazda is owned by Ford.
