Ernie - Do you have any pics of what the interior of your car looks like?? I am interested. I know that the cars still have to be "street legal" but how far do you guys stretch the term.

don't know where to find pics of my car's interior. Any car over here with an SR20 is considered illegal on the street. So I don't know what to tell you about that term. We are supposed to keep the exhaust with a catlyzer and catback type exhaust system, but they haven't been too strict. They are pretty strict about tandem with roll cages and sid impact beams. Fire extinguisher and stripped interior are pretty commonplace. I usually like to have an oil pressure and water temp gauge at least. Along with boost to monitor any possible leaks.

Why is your car right hand drive, Ernie?

I recommended it too my sponsor....1. It will cause less problems overall, because of freedom for turbo kits and steering shaft cleance. 2. No need to have wiring changed. 3. I was kind of brought into drifting and feel more comfortable in a RHD.

Overall it is easier to put parts in this car, because most of the parts brought from Japan are made for Japan based cars. My tuner was able to start from scratch with this car.

That is the most creditable response for switching to RHD i've ever heard, other than the "look"...Some people will do anything to look cool. Anyhow, Is all of team Rotora going to the RHD format?

switching to? im pretty sure its a whole 180sx.. Not a 240sx conversion. Perhaps earnie can clear it up.

What I meant was that ernie made sound reasoning for choosing a JDM vehicle for the reasons he stated. As oppose to, he coverted a USDM vehicle and that was a good choice. I'm assuming that his vehicle is JDM, eventhough that i didn't make it clear in my last statement.

Makes sense to me. Comfort is everything in a drift car.

Yep comfort is everything. No Team Rotora is not all changing to RHD format. Yes it is an original 180sx straight from Japan. It came from a shop over here called AutoConnexion. A guy named David Ogamoto who imports RHD cars. He currently has an S15 for sale. I do think converting a LHD to a RHD is kind of ridiculous. It weekens the overall chassis when the firewall is cut to do the RHD conversion. It is not worth the time and effort to do a LHD to RHD conversion when you can just go to a place and buy the real thing.

its great to hear all of this information very helpful,

i was wondering if AutoConnexion had a site or anything, id like to check out there stuff.

And as another question, how did you get the sponsers? or join with rotera? I mean gushi for his age is very good, but how did he join the team or get to compete like you. Id like to do this someday, maybe go pro, or just to compete and have fun, but sponsers are inprotant, and was wondering how easy is it to come upon a sponser.
