The front end is an 86 and the eninge bay is also identical to one. The only thing different is the motor, sure it's not just a motor swap?

yeah i thought so too, but i took the pic at 04 irwindale D1 and from what i remember it was an 86, so if it's not sry bout that.

They look very similar and even share some parts. I could see how the hatch especially could be mistaken for a 86.
