  • My project supra and damaged parts!!! 56k friendly

It's a sad day for Alyssa. As you can see from the photos. The beating I put my suspension through. I recently discovered the mess when I got used tires installed in the rear. At first I noticed this grinding noise as I drove home after the beach meet with a friend. When I was with jack on our food runs I didn't hear a thing. I can only describe it like a bad brake pad squeaking sound. I notice the noise as I started heading out after the meet that night. Friends said it was coming from my rear wheels.

I just thought it was my parking brake going out from drifting a little too much. It sounded very similar to it. When I was on the freeway heading home I hear a clicking sound. So A week later I find this. This is going to set the project back a few more days and my rotor upgrades will be on hold. I seriously should have gotten my car on the lift the night after. But I've been busy with other vehicles.

I just ordered new sway bars which will be in by tomorrow and I'll be stopping by PYP ( pick your parts ) for used #1 control arms, Stabilizer bar links, Axel shafts ( are now heat treated from all the rubbing. They can snap at anytime so they will be replaced although they look fine ), wish me luck on Alyssa's full recovery. =)

If your wondering those are enkei 17'x7' gold rims with a 2' inch lip.

Tip of the day: From you freindly moderator

"Please learn from my mistake listen to unusual sounds coming from your car esp. after long hard practices and drives. Anything can go wrong so get your car on a lift ASAP, dust off those jack stands. In the end you might be preventing more damaged or maybe even a life. Something sounds funny or unusual? Get it on a lift!"

The second to last pic is of the front sway bars. No damage, but im getting way to much understeer so they will be removed. Drifting is alot harder now that the rear suspension is damage. The tail wont swing at all.

Major suckage. Atleast your set back wasn't as big as mine. My engine got stolen out of the shop it was at before I could take delivery on it.

My car will be back on the road by Wednsday. I just wished they sold sway bars individualy. That will save me a few bucks.

Stabilizer bar links will be upgraded to a solid and stiffer version found on 89' to 92' supras.

That's painful just to look at...

I was gonna say that I bet you'd have crazy understeer with no rear sway in place.

                You have our sympathies.

Hope she feels better. That looks like it really took some wear and tear.

You can't really tell by those photos but the axel shafts where eating the sway bars when I was carrying a heavy load.
