1. This isn't the ghetto. Adjust your speech accordingly
2. It's different, but then again, so are its repair and insurance bills. How are you going to pay for repairs should it be damaged? How are you going to pay for the insurance? Aftermarket parts are expensive, do you have enough money for them?
For a beginner, I'd not recommend the IS300. Buy something cheap and learn how to drift in that.

An is300 is a RWD car so it can be drifted. The problem is its weight and the difficulty of finding a used one with a manual transmission. Don't buy an automatic if you plan to drift, it can be done but you are missing out on alot of fun and learning.
Everyone says go buy an LSD, Brakes, Suspension... BLAH BLAH BLAH. That is the biggest crock of %$&^& I have ever heard. Everyone should learn how to drift a car STOCK (with no upgrades) first. This helps you:
1) Become more familiar with your car.
2) Develop basic driving skills and techniques. Creating a sound base that will only get better as you add upgrades later on.
3) Raise your level of confidence at the limits. Once you have mastered your car stock and can control it at will then all future upgrades will require only simple changes to your technique.
People who upgrade their cars before they attempt to master drifting stock are only worse drivers in the long run.

I would like to know if a Lexus IS300 is a good drift car. I am asking because I do not want to purchase something that is not sufficient for drifting.
