RB26DETT swap into a S14?

I was wondering to get more power out of the car, is it possible to have a RB25DETT or RB26DETT swapped into a S14 240sx.

Also whats the pro's and con's about RWD and AWD and FWD as far as racing and drifting goes?

I wouldn't even dream of this stuff unless you have a good 10K on the side for a project cars.

I don't think it wounld take 10k you can get an rb26dett with an rb25 trans for about $4500 and Mckinney Motorsports sells a swap kit with a custom driveshaft for $1150 shipped they also have a z31 kit in the works I may go that route after the Iroc-Z build is complete

Oh no, my friend... there are stupid questions.

If you had even searched Google, Zilvia, Freshalloy, Club240, or NiCO, you'd have found the answer to your first question quite easily. In fact, there was a magazine cover car that answered it within the past few months.

RWD- power to the rear wheels. Good for corner exit acceleration as the rearward squat is favorable. Good for racing as the overall weight distribution is favorable. Best for drifting because the rear wheels are powered and can be used to both maintain and adjust the angle of a drift.

AWD- power to all wheels. Great for corner exit acceleration, as power is delivered to every wheel and thus traction is plentiful. Good for racing for above reason, but carries a weight penalty due to increased mechanical complexity. Bad for drifting because of the grip. One would have to have quite a bit of horsepower to truly drift an AWD car.

FWD- power to the front wheels. Worst of the three for corner exit acceleration as the rearward squat will act to unload the front tires. Decent for racing with a proper setup, but there's a reason GT, Prototype and F1 use RWD. Cannot truly drift, regardless of what anyone on this website says.

Was that really too hard to bother to look up?

Ive been reading books, doing online searches and i ask only the simplests of questions but i only ask if i can find what im looking for. Gridracetech if your going to attempt to put people who dont know much about drifting down, saying they ask stupid questions in a newbie question forum you need to get you 10x zoom glasses on and read.

Stay out of the newbie forums if stupid questions bother you so dam much.

Newbie tip, It's nice to dream, hell I still do. But get your experience first, or even a vehicle. Then ask all you want.

Let me help you. Poseur means "One who affects a particular attribute, attitude, or identity to impress or influence others." Putting your dad's Supra in your sig is posing. It is not your car, quite obviously, and yet you put it in your sig like it was such. Tsk tsk.
