Rules?

I'm new to this website and to drifting, I would like to know where I could find some rules for drifting, i know alot of y'all are going to think i'm crazy but I would like to know if a mid 70's Camaro dirt track car would be legal at a drifting event. I know alot will disagree but it looks like drifting and dirt track racing have alot of the same techniques involved in the driving style and I figure what ever I learn in one i could take some of that and apply it to the other and make me a better all around driver.

Any one out there no if this car would be ok to use or not? I'm new to driving dirt track cars and new to drifting. I don't have alot of money and would like this car to perform double duty.
