Hey all,
New to the site, new to the scene, but a long time fan of driving sideways.
I wanted to know what everyone thinks of learning how to drift at pro-drift events and rally schools? I originally tried to teach myself in an old '88 FC but all I managed to do was get the car to stop sideways and eventually blow up the engine.
I'm moving to southern cali soon and I really want to get into the scene but I don't see myself too capable learning on my own, especially in another FC. Is it unheard of to get taught drifting professionally? If so, what are some of the good schools/events? I'm going to need a car to train in too, probably something newer.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I go to all 3 organizations and I know and have friends at all 3. In my opinion Drift Day was the best place for a beginner to learn they have more instructors and tracks suited more for beginners. But this was at the old venue so who knows when they have another drift day where it will be and how it will be setup. I learned at Just Drift, my first 5-6 events were through them at the balcony and I learned a lot very fast. To give you an idea I went from never drifting before to "Pro Level" in under 2 years. It was a lot of hard work and a shitload of money but well worth it in my opinion and I learned something new everytime I went out. So any track time is good track time you just have to find a venue you feel comfortable to push at (probably not irwindale
