I'd agree that it is one of the better drift cars you can get for cheap. Miatas are also really cheap and work great if you can fit in them. (I drift one, It's good. trust me.) They also date as far back as the first 240sx's as well so you should be able to find cheap parts for them if you need.
(Weird enough, I am always posting about the miatas since I got mine and found out how fun they are. Maybe I'm unconciously trying to start a miata drifting movement or something. Either way it's a good choice. Just don't blame mean when we're all being led by communist leaders and forced to drive em. I said nothing.)
I have been told that a 240sx is pretty much the eaiest thing to drift, the weight dispersment (sp) is basically perfect and the guy i know that drifts his said he has an almost stock engine is it.
I think two of the best cars to start out with are the 240 and corolla. There are many around and they are also pretty cheap. They are good drift cars right out of the gate because these cars are well balanced at all four corners. They also make a wide variety of aftermarket parts for these cars. I started out with an AE86 because of cost and parts. Not to mention they are really fun to drift with because you constantly have to be on the gas keeping the torque band up.
