Yes, you can drift it. No it won't be as good as a rear-wheel-drive car. You want to drift with the best, get rwd. Fwd requires more skill and more finesse and will not be easily drifted until you have more time under your belt.
If you want to drift, and more importatly, if you want to live (unless you just want to hit up abandoned stripmall parking lots), get a RWD car. FWD is of the devil.
