What are the differences between auto and manual drifting?
Besides the obvious shiftlock and such, can I still brake drift?

It would have to do with power and speed...

If you have an auto, you better have alot of momentum going into a turn with a slower tighter course.

Of course with a manual you can just downshift.

You can still drift, I just think you'll be hindering yourself though. Why not just get an manual, you have to later on if you want to get serious.

Plus a manual car has more hp than an auto, well usually I think.

yes, unless you already own an auto.

The onlything you are really missing are clutching techniques, it will force you to go to weight transfer techniques earlier. Which in my opinion are alittle more advanced.

Its all about speed and momentum and knowing the car. Autos always have a delay in the gear box, you need to know that delay and work around it.

Actually i kindof believe it can be healthy to practice with an auto. However if your going to be buying a car you will be more saticfied with a manual transmission overall. And even if you get an auto eventually you will be wanting to go to a manual.
