knocking 240 revitalized

I've been interested in drifting for over a year now and am finally able to get an FR for relatively cheap.... the only thing is that the motor is knocking itself apart and the only motor i have to put in it is an old 87-200sx motor (that oddly enough has 8 sparkplugs on a 4-cyl)...Is this a good motor or is it a waste of my time to use for drifting? .... does anyone in or around Birmingham or Huntsville Alabama knows of some place to practice (LEGALLY!!!)?
As you can tell i'm not the most knowledgabe person when it comes to this but i want to learn.... so help please!!



btw - i'm going to rebuild the motor that's in the 240 now from the block up.... (my first motor rebuild as well)

i own both the s12 and the s13... the s12's front suspension & steering assembly is worn out, the interiors rotten from the front windshield being smashed out.. so the car's pretty much junk... but the s13 is in great condition except for the motor... (my dad had the s12 sitting around at his house and he gave it to me)
