Powersliding is sliding after you enter a turn.
Drifting is sliding before the turn and angling it for the right exit.
Good question though, most really don't know the difference, check out the most amature vids or driftkings.com lol they love to powerslide and think they're drifting.
i've been a fan of rally for a while, before i learned what drifting was and always loved how they took theyre turns especially the older in older rallys, it looks like a drift to me but i dont know the specifics or technical aspects to really know if it actually is a drift (also because they are 4wd)

Oh yea thats drifting...Its really the only way to take a high speed turn in a dirt, watch how they enter and exit a turn. They also have FF rally races, and thats also drifting.
Powersliding= exactly what it sounds like. It is using the car's power to initiate a power oversteer slide. Drifting? No. Powersliding requires no extra skill or initiation technique other than simply stomping on the accelerator midcorner and countersteering.
The main difference is that in a drift, the car slides from the entry to the exit of a turn. When you powerslide, the car grips on entry and slides at exit. Drifting requires alot more skill because you have to keep the car sideways alot longer without spinning, and have to use additional techniques to get the car sliding at entry.
