  • FF or RWD

What do u think is a better kind of cars are better at Drift FF or RWD.I have a 90 Eclipse that is a FF and my Truck that is a RWD.I would like to have the Eclipse to use for Drifting but dont know wich one would be a better choice. It will be great help if the people of Drifting.com to help me out on this matter.

This topic should NOT be posted here at drifting.com, as it's not drifting related. Dear moderator, please make it stop! <my vote for deleting or throwing to off-topic>

EDIT: Because you corrected your question, then there's no point not to answer: take the truck, gut it to the last wire, get an LSD or weld the rear axle so that the power is made equally to both wheels (DANGER! It's an axle killer rice method!) and drift it baby!

this a topic that ussually gets out of hand (ff vs. fr) i'll give the short answer, FR will potencially provide you a better experience in terms of variability (e.i. ff can't power over) but overall its your own personal choice that must fit your style, however in my honest opinion i wouldn't suggest drifting a truck (top hevy ect.) but once again up to you, i personally would go with the eclipse since i support FF. but different people here will gives you different opinions of each drivetrain.

I have not had the chance to Try out the Eclipse. But i have tryed the Truck on a open area and had a little diffcult with it.It was not the weight change i have a sway bar on the front end so it works out fine and the power from the Engine helps bring out that tail to bring me around the corner safely.I will soon be the Best Truck Drifter on Drifting.com lol

yeah it sometime got out of hand!!! last time i was cuzzing like crazy till the moderator delete it... but ill go with eclipse like paul walker!!! and basicly the truck is rwd(which is good) but its too mumbo jumbo!!! and eclipse has many mod you could buy so its stability of the car is way better as the truck. truck well drifting it at 60+mph will flip over most time specially if it is a high on!!!

I found a Nos block that i can put into my truck that will Boost my Hp to around 425+500=925 lol had to do the math and after that iam going to put a Twin Turbo on that Beast. On the other hand the Eclipse is not the same one from the fast and the furious its a older modle i know that i can turn it into a Beast it self but it will cost a *Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored* load of money but in the end it will be worth it.I will now put upload a pic of the car.
The car is now on the floor and has the Engine back in it this was a before pic.I will get a better pic tomorrow.

they both suck, christ you ppl need to think about what you are saying. go to ONE drift meet, then make up your mind, before you dump cash on something completely stupid.

OR...unlike that weird thing the last guy said, use what you have and DONT' "dump cash". They could be used on extra tires

The RWD pickup might work well, and if lowered (not too much), can be a really good machine.

Seriously, unless you're stubborn neither vehicle would make it easy to learn and compete.
The key to drifting is suspension.
Due to the fact that the truck has very little options in terms of high performance suspension upgrades, it's going to be next to impossible or insanely expensive to do.

FWD has it's own set of hurdles.
I don't want to get into another heated debate, but I'm still waiting for someone to explain to me how a FWD can "drift" a compound curve that has a lot of direction changes.
I've seen FWD's (2G Integra) drift pretty impressively - you'd swear it was a RWD - but FWD's cannot accelerate while changing directions effectively.
This is where the RWD platform is superior in drifting.
