  • Question about wheel rotation

In a normal car you turn your wheel 2 times to go into full lock. But what if you could modify it into only 1 turn? would that help in drifting cuz you can lock your wheels either way twice as fast?

So...you mean you want to make your wheel more sensitive?

I understand what you're saying, but it really does seem illogical. Because its not every situation you will have you're wheels fully turned in one direction. Sometimes you don't need that much wheel angle for a turn, you know?

what hes trying to say is if ou could make your steering ratio different so it only took 1 turn either direction to be at the maximum angle. I think it would be quicker but but maybe inacurate. Hard to get used to. Just get a 330mm sterrring wheel.

hmm just wondering, I thought that the less turning of the wheel would give you more control in times that u would need it.

it might but smaller errors in steering wheel angle would be a bigger messup on your tire angle. you should try ot and let us know how it works.

well I cant really try it out in real (I'm only 16) life but on sim racing games I'm gonna try it with a wheel that only has a 240 degrees rotation and see if that helps in drifts.

dun think its a good idea on real car.....
but I think changing to a smaller steering wheel works better since u turn the wheel with less radius

If you want your car to steer like a sim car with only 120degrees or so of motion, that'll be bad for the real car. A little bump or tilt may cause you to turn and hit something, especially dangerous in daily driving OR racing/drifting, whatever. I guess the 2-3 turn wheel we have now is a time-tested technique.
