  • hey everyone im brand new just a hello and looking for some help

Hey everyone, my name is Ed and im 24 years old. Ive had a 1993 toyota tercel all my life, and i just sold it. i loved that car.lol. I am graduating from the University of Wisconsin this semester in Computer Sciences. I have been interested into drifting for about 3 years now, and i am considering taking part of the scene. So far i am looking at the 2nd generation rx7, or the s13 240. if anyone has any opinions on what i should look for while testing these cars out, or any personal experience with them, feel free to help me out! anyways, im just sayin hello and i hope to meet some of you all in the midwest soon!

Just have the owner make it pass smog and be weary of rust

the 240 would be your best bet. theres a reason theyre the most popular drift platform. theyre more beginner friendly then the fc and also are easier to fix. cant go wrong with the fc though. ethier route, just love the car and do your research and itll love you.

i have a buddy who drifted his tercel.. pretty funny sight.

Yea either one will, both can be turbo and upgraded to better and more powerful engines. Anything is possible.

the thing is about the FC, it wasnt designed to take this kinda abuse nor was it designed for drifting so its a lil hard to get the thing at a crazy angle drift. with a car that has 50.2/49.8 weight distribution, its a lot harder to get the thing sideways. now for the silvia, there is more weight in the front making it easier for the driver to break traction. i can see why ppl would choose the 240 over the fc. the FC's strong point lies on the circuit. A true sports car as for dealing with engines, rotaries use a lot less parts than piston motors do and both arent hard to work on, just pick yourself up a factory workshop manual for either car and understand its setup and anything can be easy.

really? wow, i always thought as though the rx7 was more 'race inspired' than the 240. thanks for clearin that up for me.

it is race inspired. on the circuits like time attacks, speed trials, jgtc, ect. the rx7 is strong and not a stranger to the drag racing scene either. its a well balanced and good car but if your looking for something to JUST DRIFT, the rx7 would not be a first choice in my opinion to learn. but if you like something to drive in all types of racing categories. the rx7 isnt a bad choice and i love it cuz its brings out that TRUE SPORTS CAR feeling.

yea... uhh dont call it a "scene" cuz it just makes it seem that youre a punk street racer trying to be like the guy from 2fast2furious
