my guess is that your friend drives a domestic and hates all japanese cars
honda and Nissan are both very good companys and build good cars. each have there strengths and weaknes'

honda does not rice out cars ricers rice out cars

I think that the whole thing stems from a fat dose of deep fried pride. I mean, when I bought my 64 impala, it had a sticker on the back window that said "suck fumes ford boy",but why would some one make a sticker like that? For the same reason that my friend has an aftermarket licence plate that reads "Friends dont let friends drive fords",PRIDE,of course, he drives a chevy. Or how about "I'd rather push an old ford, than drive a chevy"... mmm, taste that pride! As for Dodge, for the most part they seem to be left out of the pettyness, of the pride wars. What point am I tring to make?...The big three.
Dodge, Ford, Chevy, each one has its own following, some crossbreed, most don't. Now Irealize that this post has been about american cars...So far, but this all relates to Japanese cars
just the same...Again, with the big three. Toyota, Honda, Nissan,
I guess no matter what continent you are on People are going to own one brand(Honda=Ford) and tell you to hate another(Chevy=Nissan) or vice-versa, while leaving one neutral(Toyota=Dodge) This dos not apply to all people, but it does to most.
And I comend you for bothering to find out about Nissans for your self rather than take his word, even though he is knowlegeable about cars, he is just wrong, and so would you be. Even the most crappy car on the planet serves a very useful perpose because those who may be low income, they too can own a car, even if it is a crappy car. And a car is a very important to ones own personal freedom.

he drives an at least 13 year old crx and a supra thats prone to overheating and blowing headgaskets and he wants to call nissans crappy?

            ok

nissans are fine, crx's are awesome, mkIII are alright, i was looking to get one for a while but decided to get s13 jsut for practicality/junkyard availability. but as with any 10+ year old car no matter how nice it was from the factory, 10 years is a lot of time for accidents/stupid repairs/stupid owners to make any car no matter how nice form teh factory, an absolute nightmare to own. my s13 has been nothing but probjems, but considering i paid 400 bux to buy it from some pothead who lost the title i honestly cannot complain.

do some research somewhere, but i can honestly say drifting.com is not the place to do it. try freshalloy.com or somewhere to look for nissan info.

If he drives a honda, he's gonna hate on you for getting a Nissan. Hes most likely mad cuz his FF can't drift

But anyways, you should buy a car for you, not for other ppl.
If you like the car get it for you. Who cares wut other ppl say, its your car, not theirs. It all depends on wut u want to do with the car also.

I have a 87 nissan 300zx and i have no problems with it. Sure, everyonce in a while something happens that im not happy with (leak oil, rims that dont hold air, broken window regulators) but its almost as old as me so i think its only fair that i except that its gunna fall apart.

But its a good car, really reliable, not fast but likes sliding. and after 85k miles, it still runs like a champ. It has me looking in to another nissan for my next car.

Dont listen to others when it comes to cars, experance everything ur self if you can.

                        read my whole post

any car can be a nightmare if you buy a ragged out POS that someone stupid has had. this is the reason some people have 92 chevy pickups they bought brand new, that have 300,000 miles on them and the valve covers have never been removed, yet some people can buy a brand new car, start messing with it not knowing what they aer doing, put it back to stock and sell it to someone who regrets buying it for hte rest of their life. the 240 i bought i got for $400 bux, it was dirt cheap because it "needed a maf and ignitor" when in reality it needed a new motor, lots of misc suspension parts, misc drivetrain , interior parts and has been nothign but repairing ghettoness.

now if i was STUPID and IGNORANT i woudl say never buy a nissan again. but i know good and well i paid 400 bux for it, and im getting exactly what i should have expected. and i know the car would have been fine if the previous owner wasnt a total retart and treid to "mod" it and then put it back to "stock " after he realized he sucked at life.

If you take your time,a nd find a good, unmolested STOCK car that is owned by some person who has jiffylube change their oil every 2500 miles you shouldnt have problems. other than regular maintenance, replacing parts that wear out over xxx k miles youll be fine. just dont buy a total POS for cheap and youll be fine.

summary, you get what you pay for. take time and find a nice car you wont have problems.

and no, SR is not more reliable than KA . Ka can have a timing chain go after xxx miles, but if you replace that then youll be fine.

                            You're 15. You don't need a turbo ka.

Are you on the rock? You just asked if Nissans are unreliable... clearly you have no idea of how to undertake basic repairs nevermind the complex ones that could be required with that car, no background in how they work even at a basic level, no money to replace the stuff you are going to break in that car, and no liscense.

                            GOOD LUCK
