Jw what exactly do they do and do they help you in any way or are they just there for looks?

I think they are what unlock new cars in the game, like you have to get a certain amount from a series to unlock the car, but that's just a wild guess. No idea really

All i know about it is, the more fair a car you use to the computers the mre points you can get..the max is 200pts per race. But what the points do I have no idea lol

the only point of the A-Spec points is to see how good of a "racer" you atre, if you demolish them with a high power car a-la a FGT car VS. mini's, you get 1 points, however, if you enter a low power car in a race with high power cars a-la a lightly modded skyline Vs. the Super GT cars, and you win, you get massive points
