  • The new 2006 mitsubishi eclipse.

I can't get a pic but here is the site.

The body looks almost like the 350z.

Holy crapoly! 3.8l V6 with 260ft./lbs of toruque?! That's rediculous for a FWD car.

EDIT: You know, now that I think about it, if they took the displacement down about a half a liter, made it DOHC, mounted the engine longitudinally instead of transversely, and made it RWD, I think they'd have a winner. Not quite along the lines of the original DSM, but it would be a really cool car. And it could probably hold its own in the current RWD sports car market. However, Mitsubishi is going after the 16-25 female and yuppy guy demographic.

I didn't bother looking at the site, but you honestly just found this car? The concept(wich looked exactly the same) has been out for a very long time, not to mention the car is it GT4. Its not FWD(unless they changed it) its AWD, 160hp to the front wheels and then 100hp from an electric motor in the rear.Thats how it was supposed to be, but they may have changed it.

Actually, it is FWD (<a href="http://www.mitsubishicars.com/MMSA/jsp/eclipse/features_specs.jsp?t=mechanical">Here's the specs</a>). I don't understand Mitsubishi's obsession with putting tranverse-mounted under-achieving V6s into their cars. It seems like they would have learned after the FTO and the 3000GT. Both of those were pretty cool cars, but they weren't exactly all that great. FWD cars with such big, heavy engines and lots of torque just don't preform all that greatly. They're just numbers. But I guess that's why they have the Evo.

          um.... WOW, very old news....
Looks nothing like the 350z, you people are blind if you think that. It is good that they made it with more horse-power, but its still FWD, and looks way to futuristic...
I saw one on a lot, and it still didn't impress me with the looks that much. I am not saying its "ugly" but IT DOES NOT RESEMBLE THE 350z.
