ariel is cool ... can you get that stateside?

anyway, i like the idea of an older Z car. maybe like a early '70's 240Z and then drop the RB25 into it with a single snail setup ... a la devil Z ..... that would rock, just for a pure wangan monster!

yes the ariel is very nice, i tihnk they now have a dealer somewhere eastern US but not sure very fast car but the only problem is making it legal in the states, i've heard things like calling it a kit car will make it possible but seems a little hard to believe, plus that thing would be a *Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored* to drift it seems.

Yeah they have a dealer stateside, and im not sure how its registured? come to think of it I dont think he has plates on his....would have to ask.

But pretty much what ive decided is I want to do an "old school" Japenese car. Like that older post with all the 70's cars. The more i look at those the more i like them. But I would put a 1JZ, or RB25/26, etc... in whatever I do, if i go that route.

an older Z would be sweet. silver with a black hood, carbon perhaps. some black wantanabes with a chrome lip. A big front lip and some sweet fender flares. Some suspension might be kinda hard to get, but the only question is what to use for an engine. i was reading in sport compact car a while back about Coleman wanting to put a Toyota BEAMS engine in it. It has good power plus you can mount it far enough back to put X braces on it.

Yeah this is definatly the way I want to go. so here's the new list.

                      1: 72ish 240z
                      2: 1st or 2nd Gen RX-7
                      3: MK-1,2 Supra
                      4: Z-31 - mid 80's
                      5: Older Cressida, etc...

I really like the "Yankee Style" cars from the pictures ive seen. just something you never see, especially where i live and i like them alot. Also wondering what the chances are of getting an older Laurel or something like that into the states? Dont even know if thats ever been done. I have seen a mid 70's Skyline before. But thats it.

Keep in mind that the drivetrain in all these cars will be newer, and turbo!!

just buy another z33 and do some mods to it. you obviously had one before therefore liked it. get another one, they are great cars.

some you guys ideas are whack. lets buy a 35k awd car and convert it to rwd and ruin the waranty. theres a reason a lot of the cars and crazy ideas you guys list arent popular, its because theres no aftermarket for them and people get really tired really quick of pioneering drift parts on a budget.

get something that WORKs. a z33 is one of those things. GTO would be sweet as well (especially with ls2 and gears) or a used m3. g35's are also total baller, maybe even a used supra.

Yeah, I did loved my Z, heck ive loved all the Z's ive had. But thats just it, I would like to get something that I havent owned. Ive looked at the new GTO's with the ls-2 but just didnt sit well with me when i drove it. Didnt feel right for me.
Also dont get me wrong, my Supra I had was perhaps my favorite car ive ever owned, but it was a BIG MONEY PIT!! I had 30k in just parts on the car before i know it. Very fast and always got looks, but i dont think i want to get into that again. I have looked into another MK-3, some of the pics posted on here are realllly nice. Also the 1JZ is a great motor.

I have debated on New vs. Old for awhile, and I think thats the hardest decision so far to make. I mean I rode in a new Z06 yesterday night and almost wanted to go get one today, but then again I drive my Charger and theres nothing like that feeling. Same excitment that i got from my Starion. Just a raw feeling that all the new cars hide, which they have to because the masses require that now.

Also i want something different, not different in the way of making a civic AWD, etc... But in the way that when i drive it people look at it and are like what is that, thats awesome. I want one of those. I know im probably asking alot out of a car, but thats why im doing alot of asking around and homework before i buy something this time. Most of the cars ive owned in the last decade has been impulse buys, like ohh wow his car is bad, I want one. then i look for about a week and then buy one, use it and upgrade it till i get bored then i let it sit there. Only car i will never do that with is my Charger, I love that thing.

Also keep in mind that this is NOT strictly a track car, I will get something else for that, now I may take it to the track sometimes, but thats about it.

get a new charger with the 6.1 in it then, those cars are nice on the inside, and would make a great dailydriver done up with some light suspension and good wheel/tire package.

yea but the new charger is only in automatic from what i've heard, unless they changed it for the srt8.
