AW11 MR2
-turbo 13b, approx 320 bhp
-Porsche G50 'box
-front end cut off at firewall, replaced with tube-frame (coil-overs)
-cheap aluminum stock car rad
-most of the rear-end cut out, semi-tube-framed.
-intercooler mounted at the back of the roof, with sprayer
-50 shot of nitrous (that way you can have controllable power in the corners, with a good burst on the straights)
-15" wheels, with the widest tires I could find, maybe even slicks, depending on the road.
-stock-car brakes (ie. wilwood, or something along those lines)
-big multi-element rear wing
-big front splitter with dive-planes on either side
wins.
but more realistically mine would be a stripped, roll-cage equiped, coilover equipped streetported ITB'd 20B (3-rotor) in a NA (early) Miata. on 13x8 hoosiers.
yeah maybe, but all the "touge" around here is so tight and twisty its almost more like autocross with a little more room than a big two-lane road. Hence the stupid autocross setup.
mmmm not a fan of the doors and stickers but ehhhh 13b is nice
actually i have the road and ster mag w/ this car(sankou auto) and a n/a version by Zoom engineering with a bp engine beat out the rotary in tt...i was very impressed

I've thought of that idea before too... Before we got the corvette, my father and I were thinking about something quite similar to that for road racing. However, our version would be 13b turbo, open top with a formula car-style roll-hoop, and the passenger's side filled in (similar to what mazdaspeed did, I think). Good aero, light weight, and good power... it would have been fast. But then we got the 'vette, and it has worked quite well for us.
