At the first D1DS, Ryan Hampton was running a black Crown Victoria.

Swaybars, suspension, tires that aren't like doughnuts, bucket seats instead of the bench in the front, weight reduction, some basic mods to that 5.0, ratchet shifter, strut tower braces, limited slip.

That should get you started. No, I have no idea where to find any of this. You'll have to get crative. Lots of companies make springs, you'll need to find one and then run some good struts. Fab up your own dual exhaust, use a nice x pipe, and run true dual all the way back. I'm not sure what you could do for headers, you'll have to find somebody that makes them for your car. Get on a mustang forum and find out what people are doing to the Ford 5.0 motor thats effective, I know it depends on the year but I do also know for sure that the factory exhaust and manifolds are junk. Find some stock mustang wheels, I bet the bolt pattern is the same and they won't be so...errr....round and bulging.

Just think, use common sense. To modify your car for drifting is pretty much the same as modifying it for road racing.

Yeah, Parry is 100% right....and once you get all that stuff done post a pic of your car, im sure it will look cool. Also, you prolly dont wanna use your money on this, but you could re-paint it, something pretty cool... that way it would look... less 80's and old woman-ish haha.

do what parry says, and add a giant wing. we all know giant wings make cars go fast.

if you want some show to add to the go, and hydraulics... cow-leather steering-wheel cover... bead seat-covers... gold-chrome wheels... and metallic magenta paint with gold accents. the epitome of good taste.

if he does half of what i suggested i will crap myself. If he did half of what you just suggested I would accept it as par for the course.

Sounds like something from "Pimp My Ride"

                            I really don't think so

I was thinking of something more old school
like a muscle car, rally stripes, flames, more H.P. than a Top Fuel dragster, but that handled like a JGTC race car

                            no dumb a$$ wings
                            no neon or candy colors
                            no body kits
                            no gold
no tv screens on back of seats

                              Hrm.

So do it. Unforunately 4500 pound cars don't take to superior handling all that easily, but hey. Can't hurt to try.
