my friend has one of those... pretty cool... lol it's really a simple design... a little plastic card that forces the tray to slide out. The only "mod" you need to do is unscrew the front cover. The sliding movement is a little tricky to get.

i never got a chance to try it i was going to install it so i could try to play the gt4 prolouge, but i am kinda low on funds now, so i am selling some of my stuff.

im kinda confused as to how it works....so it kinda works like a mod chip, just without the mod part? some one explain please....

With the Slide Card you no longer have to install a modchip like You do not even have to open the console, therefore your warranty stays intact. Normally when installing a backup solution, you have to open your console, and "split" the warranty sticker on the back.
The Slide Card does not make any changes to the internal system of your PS2. So after and when using the Slide Card your PlayStation2 is operating completely normal. Playing PS2 and PS1 original games as it should, and playing DVD movies as it should.

using the Slide-Card in conjunction with the Swap Magic Discs, you will be able to play:

PS2 CD-R backups PAL or NTSC
PS2 DVD-R backups PAL or NTSC
PS2 Original import games
PS2 EA games patched or unpatched,

Slide Card is a product designed to work in conjunction with the Swap Magic Discs. Swap Magic + Slide Card works much like the modchips, but without having to be installed, and without making internal modifications to your console.

The Slide Card will not work without the Swap Magic Discs or similar swap discs. In the Swap Magic 3.0 package, there are two discs. One disc for booting CD-R games, and another for booting DVD-R games. The discs contains all the needed information to boot a backup or original import game using the Slide-Card

I own these,I had them prior to getting a modchip.Let me correct this.

Doesn't work with V9 and V10 PS2's
Puts more stress on the lens than a modchip at startup
Can't play all games
If your lens is old or dirty,it might not load some games that should load.
Loads may take longer in some cases
The slide card bends after a little while,taking anywhere from 3-15 minutes to get the tray slid back over because the hook bends.
Can't play PS1 backups or imports
$40 is pricey.

Yeah,I may be killing your sale,but I'm being nice and looking out for some people.There's a reason why I bought a modchip after using this combo.Though if this combo suits your needs,feel free to buy it.

yeah that's why i broke down and go the chip some guy down here that builds arcade controllers has devoloped a chip that u can turn off as apposed to the Messiah chips, works great but if you can't afford $100 go for the slide it's not too bad... just some stuff won't work.
